Having had the pleasure to be surrounded by many Australians in recent years, I have decided to dedicate my newest blog post to Australian English, hereafter abbreviated to AusE. It can be assumed that the basis of the Australian vocabulary was built upon words and terms spoken in Britain by the time when the land was settled, which explains why speakers of AusE use the word footpath.
